What We Do

Jacks Point House

This project involved a homeowner-designed house, situated on a gently sloping north-facing section in Jacks Point with lovely views of Coronet Peak to the north. The house consists of 3 double bedrooms, a media room/fourth bedroom and a large, open-plan living, dining and kitchen wing with skillion ceilings.  Above the generous double garage is a large loft space which can be utilised as a rumpus room or guest wing.

Whilst, in many ways, this was a standard, timber-framed house build, the location and timing presented a number of challenges.  Starting the project in June meant that the imminent onset of Winter demanded that the excavation and laying of the foundations and pouring for the main slab had to be finished swiftly in order to avoid the worst of the weather that the Remarkables can deliver.

For the same reasons, the timber frame was delivered pre-nailed for quick construction on site, followed by erection of scaffolding and a full building shrink wrap to enable work to continue whatever the weather.  Weathertightness at the earliest stage possible ensures that the high-specification internal finishes can be completed without risk.
