This large-scale remediation project involves the refurbishment of 33 apartments at Hargreaves Street in one of Auckland’s premier CBD locations.
Spread over seven levels including two basement levels, the scope of works includes the removal of existing roofs, cladding, windows, doors and balconies, followed by rebuilding the roofs and the majority of the top two floors.
Brosnan is also carrying out the construction of new structural steel balconies to the exterior of the building, which will be encapsulated with a curtain wall façade to form winter gardens. Rounding out the project is a partial interior fitout with a focus on improving passive fire protection.
In order to tackle this complex project the team was required to come up with an innovative methodology. In addition, the CBD location and proximity to neighbouring properties has presented several logistical challenges due to the limited manoeuvring space around the site.
