Nestled among some of New Zealand's most spectacular scenery, the project will feature resource-efficient buildings that are designed, constructed and operated so that their impact on the environment is redacted. The design will reflect and celebrate the natural and cultural environment through green architecture, healthy construction materials and native landscape restoration, while including a creative element from New Zealand artists and craftspeople.
The goal is to create a comfortable and beautiful aesthetic experience, while integrating state-of-the-art technology that decreases water and energy demands. Visitors will experience first-hand how our sustainability solutions conserve resources. We hope visitors will be inspired to pursue similar conservation solutions in their own homes and communities.

The development of a major retirement village on the South-Western outskirts of Christchurch is a major undertaking. Brosnan Construction has initially been awarded the contract to construct the main, three-storey centre for the complex using innovative, new techniques.
The project involved the conversion, upgrade and refurbishment of an existing c.1920 six storey building into 30 quality apartments. However, the age and condition of the existing structure meant the building required structural improvements and the client’s brief was to bring the building up to 100% of the new building code, involving new foundations, strengthening of existing walls and reinforcing remediation.
The Summeret Karaka complex is a rapidly growing contemporary retirement village in a quiet country setting in South Auckland. It features a new village centre made up of villas, townhouses and apartments.
Working with homeowners who have suffered serious damage to their property in the Christchurch earthquakes, Brosnan Construction is contracted through Southern Response to provide repair and rebuild services. An ongoing relationship which, to date, has spanned more than 20 separate projects...
